To operate as the Training Manager (Technical and Non-Technical) by providing leadership, subject matter expertise and best practice principles in the execution of the mines learning and development strategy. The role is accountable for providing occupationally directed learning and skills development programmes to ensure that the operations current and future business objectives and regulatory obligations are met. The role is accountable for mine-wide training (open pit and underground included).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)

  • Grade 12/Std10 Certificate/N3 Qualification or relevant NQF Level 4 Qualification
  • Relevant Degree or National Diploma Essential (Mining or Engineering advantageous)
  • NQF Level 5 OD – ETDP diploma
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Training Manager in the mining industry
  • Registered MQA Assessor and Moderator
  • Qualified ISO Internal Auditor
  • Valid code B Driver’s License
  • In depth knowledge and experience in technical and operator training, including Open Pit and Underground mining, Engineering and Metallurgy
  • Computer literate (MS Office at advanced level)
  • Knowledge and experience in legal compliance to Mine Health and Safety Act requirements
  • Proven experience in BBBEE, Mining Charter and SLP strategy setting, compliance tracking and reporting
  • Advanced SAP PD Competency, including reporting functionality
  • Extensive experience in Learning Management Systems, including E-learning platforms
  • Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine
