ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure that agreed, on-specification, production volumes are achieved, efficiently and safely
To lead and manage a production shift, ensuring supply of products through the acquisition and effective innovative usage of resources
Continuously ensure adherence to all quality, safety and legal requirements
Continuously optimize processes to ensure maximum output
Ensure sustainable plant performance
Ensure equipment are operated within the OWAP principles
Align day to day shutdown and equipment outage with the value chain
Ensure adherence to production plan and production schedule
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
-Set team vision and goals
-Handle trips and emergency situations
-Issuing of permits
-Lockout systems
-Coordinating production activities during
shutdowns and Turnarounds on shift basis
-Carry out critical task observations
-Employee management issues
-Identify training needs
-Supervise contractors and hired labor
-Ensure stable plant operation
-Commissioning/Decommissioning of plant
-Knowledge of RMS system / IMS system
-Be able to use SAP system
General
-Development of team members
-Coordination of team activities
-Liaise with clients and suppliers
-Execution of SHER activities
-Coordinate in-service-training
-Drive continuous improvement
-Liaise with all stakeholders
-Perform auditing function to ensure system

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 with Math’s, Science, and English and NQF 4 qualification
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in relevant field as a Process Controller and identified and measured Leadership competency
Years’ experience necessary will depend on the complexity of the plant and technology
