JOB DESCRIPTION
Safe and effective operation of winders in line with regulations, procedures, standards and safety protocols
WED log book is maintained and signed per shift
Winding Engine is safe for winding operations at all times, communicate defects to relevant engineering supervisor
Stopping of winding operations when working conditions are unsafe
Safely transport people, equipment, material and perform ore hoisting operations from relevant levels
Respond to standard hoisting code of signals
Basic and statutory maintenance of equipment
Assist during breakdowns and emergencies
Comply with the Mine Health and Safety regulations and M&RC’s standards, procedures, policies and safety protocols
Effective and timeous stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate timeously if unable to resolve
Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
Valid Winding Engine Driver Full Certificate of Competency
Onsetter Certificate
Basic SCADA/HMI proficiency
Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground / surface (site specific)
Good English written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively under pressure
Minimum 10 years of experience working in shaft sinking operations as a Winding Engine Driver
Experience slinging of large and heavy equipment in a shaft
Experience in shaft examination and repairs
Experience in double drum winders and koepe winders
Experience working with AC and DC drives
Basic knowledge of maintenance of winding equipment
