STAFF NURSE GRADE 1(PHC) REF NO: EHD2020/11/13 (X5 POSTS)

SALARY: Grade 1: R171 381 – R192 879 per annum (plus benefits)
CENTRE : Ekurhuleni Health District (SSDR)
REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Certificate. Qualifications that allows registration with SANC as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse). Current registration with SANC as Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse). Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal principles. Basic communication skills, elementary writing skills, ability to function as part of a team and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and Patients’ Rights Charter. Must be prepared to work shifts including night duty, weekends and public holidays. Grade 1: Less than ten (10) years of appropriate experience after registration as a Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse) with the SANC. Driver’s License will be an added advantage.
DUTIES: Measure, interpret and record vital signs. Give Health education to clients. Assist professional nurses with procedures. Prepare patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures. Sustain Nutritional status of patients. Be able to engage with the community and other stakeholders. Provide elementary nursing services under the supervision of professional nurse within the scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council and the Charter of Nursing Practice. Maintain the code of conduct as required in the Public Service. Perform all other duties delegated by Supervisor/Manager.
