Purpose of the role

To govern the information flow for the organization, including the quality, integrity, efficiency and availability of data.

Requirements• Experience in data dictionary and metadata management using automated tools
• 2 years’ experience managing a data governance or a senior analytical team
• Experience in the following will be preferred:
o Practical experience with data governance or Data Quality & Metadata Management tools software/programs
o Banking, with large-scale data experience
o Data modelling
o Database development and administration
• Knowledge of:
o Databases and data structures
o Query/database language
o IT systems development processes
o Business analysis and design
o Standards and governance
o Regulatory requirements such as POPIA, GDPR and PCI DSS
o Project management, metadata management, data quality management and data architecture
• Demonstrated consulting skills with change management concepts and strategies
• Communication skills – ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
• Leadership skills – willingness to take charge, manage adversity and drive operations to completion
• Attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage and mitigate risks
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
• Displays self-motivation and ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Ability to document and manage standard operating procedures
• Ability to design and develop data quality reports
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Resilient to change
• Willingness to work after hours / over weekends
• Clear criminal and credit record
