SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE

A detailed Curriculum Vitae must be submitted with the application form. Certified copies of an applicant’s ID, Grade 10 certificate, and all educational qualifications obtained, service certificates from previous employers stating the occupation, proof of relevant experience in the field of the post, and a motor vehicle driver’s license (if applicable) are required (will be submitted only when shortlisted). Original documentation must be provided as requested during the selection process. Qualifications and driver’s licenses submitted will be verified with the appropriate institutions. The South African Police Service will verify applicants’ addresses and conduct reference checks.

Appointments will be made in accordance with the Public Service Act of 1994 (ACT NO. 103 OF 1994), as applicable to the position. Applications must be mailed on time. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted or considered. If a candidate is short-listed, he or she can expect to go through a personal interview as well as a practical assessment. All applicants who have been shortlisted will have their references checked. Short-listed candidates will be vetted in accordance with the Criminal Law (Sexual Offenses and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005. (Act No 38 of 2005). A candidate whose information appears on the National Register of Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register will be disqualified from being appointed to that position.

Fingerprinting will be performed on all short-listed candidates. Only successful candidates will receive correspondence. If you have not been contacted within three months of the advertisement’s closing date, please accept that your application was unsuccessful. The South African Police Service is under no obligation to fill a position after it has been advertised. SAPS application forms are available at any SAPS Recruitment Office throughout the South African Police Service.

The generic minimum requirements applicable to the post are as follows: Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post; be in possession of a Grade 10 Certificate be in proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English; Must be a South African citizen; Must have no previous criminal/departmental convictions or criminal or departmental cases pending; Applicant will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification. SALARY: R104 073 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: A Grade 10 qualification will serve as an advantage. Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Be able to read and write.

DUTIES: Refreshments should be prepared and served. Organize and maintain a sanitary kitchen. Make a contribution to the purchase of stock. Maintain the functionality of all equipment.
