AVBOB was established in Bloemfontein in 1918 and has since grown into Africa’s largest Mutual Assurance Society providing a one-stop funeral insurance and burial service. Currently more than 3,8 million lives are insured by AVBOB.
AVBOB has three operating divisions:
AVBOB Insurance – offers a comprehensive range of funeral polices and has recently introduced the new Cashback Life insurance policy. All lives insured under an AVBOB policy receive FREE funeral benefits if AVBOB is appointed to conduct the funeral.
AVBOB Funeral Service – a countrywide network of more than 150 professionally run funeral agencies.
AVBOB Industries – factory which is based in Bloemfontein manufactures a quality range of coffins, caskets and wreaths.

The above-mentioned position exists within the Premium Administration Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
OB and OBX premiums:
· Apply OB and OBX premiums received on policies.
· Issue refunds on the OB and OBX payments.
· Liaise with branches on OB and OBX payments not yet allocated to policies.
Preparation of Internet Bank Statement:
· Assisting Senior Clerks with the preparation of the Internet Bank Statement.
Data capturing:
· Daily correspondence received on system mail register.
· Deposit slips received for payment on policies.
Filing and scanning:
· Filing of all had receipts received from Settlement Administration Department.
· Assist B1 Clerk with preparation of scanning documents and administrative duties.
· Preparation of receipts for archive on a regular basis.
Handling of telephonic and written queries:
· Answering all telephonic and written requests within the agreed time.
· Handling of Vodacom sms’s call requests.
· Attend to queries of internal and external clients.
Reports:
· Assist supervisor with provincial lapse report on a weekly basis before the final lapse run.

The above-mentioned position exists within the Call Centre Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Receive and handle telephone policy enquires in the Call Centre Department and action according.
· Address all outstanding requirements on new applications in New Business.
· Follow up on outstanding requirements in terms of unpaid claims (non-payments or premiums, defaults payments and incorrect deductions).
· Provide feedback on outstanding accounts and refunds in debtors.
· Complete amendments of policies, within delegation and requirements, (as per clients’ request) and ensure client receives a copy of amended policy.
· Ensure that the necessary security measures are in place when providing policy details to either the client or 3rd parties e.g. broker.
· The Call Centre may only provide policy information to a client when that client has a single policy with AVBOB.
· Refer leads to the Direct Marketing Department and providing enquiry numbers on claims to branches.
· Attend to administrative task as and when requested within the section.

Candidate Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
· Grade 12.
· Category B FAIS accredited.
· RE5.
· 140 Long Term Insurance FAIS credits.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
· 2 – 3 Years’ Life Assurance, preferably in policy maintenance/ client services environment.
· 2 – 3 Years’ administrative experience.
· AVBOB Production System will be an advantage.
· Computer literate and must be able to work under pressure and still be effective.
· Good communication skills (English and two African languages).
· Customer centric (client friendly and service orientated).
