POST 37/344: SECURITY OFFICER
Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital
SALARY: R124 434 per annum
CENTRE: Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum educational requirement: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7). Registration with a professional council: Registration with the Security Board of South Africa for 2006 in terms of the Security Industry Regulations Act (Act 56 of 2001) PSIRA, at level of Grade ‘C’. Experience: Appropriate managerial experience as a Security Officer in a Hospital environment. Inherent requirements:Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, weekends, and to be rotated. Perform delegated duties in all units on a rotation basis. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Able to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to function independently in challenging situations. Knowledge of Management of aggression and violence. Self-discipline, self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure. Good listening, writing reports, conflict and group handling skills.
DUTIES: (key result areas/outputs): Access/Egress control also escort patients on/off hospital premises. Assistance to personnel with the handling of aggressive/violent and uncontrolled patients. Delivery of a supportive security service to allocated areas with the aim to prevent injuries, abscondment of patients, litigation, and adverse incidents. Ensure effective patrolling of the buildings, parking areas and the perimeters. Effective application of service delivery and efficient support to the supervisor. Control/monitor surveillance cameras to identify and prevent any unlawful entry, suspicious, dangerous objects, and adverse incidents. Reporting and recording of all incidents/patient movements/ patient related activities.

POST 37/345: FOOD SERVICES AID
Chief Directorate: West Coast District
SALARY: R104 073 per annum
CENTRE: Citrusdal Hospital
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum educational qualification: Basic numeracy and literacy. Experience: Appropriate experience in an industrial Food Service environment. Inherent requirements of the job: Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Must be healthy and strong enough to lift heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day. Dress according to departmental specifications and adhere to Hospital Policy. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of production for normal and therapeutic diets in an industrial food service unit. Ability to correctly interpret standardized recipes and production planning. Knowledge of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP and safety principles. Ability to safely and correctly handle industrial equipment. Must be able to work independently and under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
DUTIES: (key result areas/outputs): Pre-preparation and production of all normal and therapeutic diets. Weigh, dishing up and distribution of patient food and beverages. Assist in receipt and storage of all provisions and stock in the food service unit. Follow correct hygiene and safety procedures within food service unit. Follow and adhere to elementary control measures and standard operational procedures. Cleaning of all work areas, storage areas, utensils and equipment. Assist with informal in-service training of new employees. Interpret recipes, use a scale and do basic sums.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirement: Basic reading and writing skills.. Experience: Appropriate experience in a Medicals Records/Registry environment. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication skills in at least two of three official languages of the Western Cape.
DUTIES: Deliver folders and other documents to various wards and clinics. Collect folders from different wards and clinics. Follow up queries of folders. Ensure effective continuous messenger services. Keep register of all folders delivered. Sorting of all incoming folders at Medical Records. Assist with ad-hoc task at Medical Records.
